Fire Alarm Technician
JOB TITLE: Fire Alarm Specialist (Full Time)
LOCATION: Grand Junction or Eagle
DEPARTMENT: Service
REPORTS TO: Operations Manager

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Fire Alarm Specialist is responsible for performing under some supervision, routine testing, maintenance and repair of Fire Alarm Systems, including ability to test Annual, repairs and troubleshooting. Fire Alarm Specialist will need to have the ability to use general hand tools and some power tools, the ability to read blue prints, operate small lifts and basic electrical knowledge is a plus. This position will also require the preparation of time reports and service tickets in an accurate and timely manner.

Requires constant (67%-100%) bending; reaching; stooping; pushing; pulling; grasping; standing; reaching; climbing tall heights; twisting; and lifting/carrying equipment, and tools (up to 100 lbs. unassisted). Requires occasional (0-33%) sitting and driving. Must possess stamina to perform physical labor for extended periods of time while enduring dirt, dust, smoke, fumes, and loud noises outdoors in all temperatures, in and around electrical and natural elements. Requires constant mental alertness, corrected vision, and hearing to normal range. Requires ability to communicate clearly. Requires ability to drive a vehicle. Must possess excellent hand-eye and gross motor coordination, plus manual dexterity. Must be able to wear/utilize required safety equipment.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places.The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS: Should have a clean driving record, and pass a background check and drug testing.

- NICET Level II - Inspections (minimum)
- Strong working knowledge of life safety and NFPA codes
- Must understand basic electrical theory, job site safety, and industry standard sprinkler fitter install techniques.
- Working knowledge of alarm panels, devices and critical components
- Must be able to read blue prints and schematic drawings.
- • Willing to coordinate between inspection deficiencies and service required to correct found deficiencies
- Capability to present information and respond to questions from managers, customers, AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction)
- Ability to operate power tools.
- Self-motivated and a professional attitude.

- At least 2 years of Fire Alarm Test and Inspections experience is required

- Must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blueprints and diagrams with assistance.
- Must possess physical capability to transport required tools and equipment to location where work is being done under various site conditions.
